Google is revamping Gmail for G Suite into a productivity powerhouse [integrating meet, chat and docs]

Google is transforming Gmail into a multi usability platform

Google is going to revamp Gmail into more of a work focused service, as leaked slides from Google's upcoming event 'cloud next presentation'. The company has already added a minor integration with 'meet'. But now it extends its support to 'chat' as well. Google will add two tabs to the service called 'chat' for one-to-one conversations.while the other will be 'rooms' for group conversations . On the web,Google is adding a side-by-side Google doc editing facility. So that the user can edit docs directly from their email without leaving the inbox to make a quick edit or two

Compared to Outlook Gmail has always been a very email focused product. Google did make some improvements like the addition of tasks and keep minibar. But the full blown docs integration will raise it way higher.on mobile the addition of chats may help for compact and simple usabilities.

Google also plans to bring more improvements to Google meet that includes hand- raising,Q&A features, zoom like background replacement, background blur, polling and more

It's expected that the company will roll it out officially on jul 21's Google cloud next productivity and collaboration session
