New cash withdrawal rules for SBI ATM in place from today: Things you should know

New cash withdrawal rules for SBI ATM in place from today: Things you should know

  • SBI starts OTP based cash withdrawal [24/7] facility for translation of 10,000 or above.
  • OTP is compulsory inorder to withdraw an amount of 10k or above at SBI ATMs.

STATE BANK OF INDIA (SBI) is Updating its withdrawal process into One Time Password (OTP) based transaction from today. This  will be effective from today (sept 18). So next time, do carry your mobile phone with your ATM Card to your SBI ATM in order to draw a five digit (xx,xxx) amount. You will be receiving an OTP by the bank on your registered mobile number which is to be entered. The transaction gets cancelled if you fail to do so

SBI posted this in their office page on Twitter where it announced "To protect customers from falling prey to fraudsters, SBI now extends OTP based cash withdrawal facility to 24x7 for amount 10,000 and above. This facility will be available for all SBI Debit cardholders at SBI ATMs from 18th September 2020 onwards.
We request you to carry your mobile while transacting at SBI ATMs and register your mobile number at branch/ATM, if not registered"

With the introduction of OTP based cash withdrawal  for 24X7 SBI has further strengthened the security. Implementing this facility throughout the day would prevent SBI debit cardholders from the risk of falling prey to fraudsters, card skimming, unauthorized withdrawals, card cloning and what not. SBI has also urged all of its customers to register or update their mobile numbers if they haven't done that yet.

Process to withdraw cash from SBI through OTP
  • Insert the card in ATM or CDM
  • Choose banking
  • Then cash withdrawal from which you prefer
  • Enter the requested amount
  • You will be receiving an OTP on your registered mobile number
  • Enter the received OTP
  • Collect your cash and complete the transaction
This additional factor of authentication will protect State Bank card holders from unauthorized ATM cash withdrawals.
This is a good initiative by SBI that strengthen banking and curb the ATM frauds which have been on the rise

Currently The OTP-based cash withdrawal facility is available only at SBI ATMs as this functionality has not been developed at non-SBI ATMs in National Financial Switch (NFS), hope this rolls out to more ATMs in these coming days

  • This is just t another stabilizing update, with most changes being unrevealed.
  • The full update  is expected to release in coming month, on September 8.

As the launch of Android 11 is getting closer, Google have released its final beta update of its latest mobile operating system Android 11.There are not much fancy changes, it's all about system stabilizing like with last month's update. While that one was focused on bringing platform stability, this release is mostly a developer biased update. This update finalizes everything to be expected on launch.

Android 11 can be expected to be announced on 8th September.. Android 11 can currently be downloaded on Pixel phones and select other third-party Android OEM phones like oneplus 8 series. The newly launched Pixel 4a won't be eligible for beta updates yet, but Google will be adding support for the latest Google device very soon.
Google isn’t showing off a bunch of new features at this time and is only detailing what developers need to do to get ready for the stable release.

It included the Exposure Notification System, which is the notification system for COVID-19 tracking apps. Android 11 can take advantage of its Bluetooth scanning method for helping detect if one exposed to coronavirus or not.

You can get Android 11 Beta 3 now from  Android Beta Program or download it directly from developers site
Google will also be pushing an OTA update for those who are on previous builds.

Here's the next Big thing from Qualcomm 'QUICK CHARGE 5.0'[100W+]. that can power your device from 0-50% in just 5 min.

Qualcomm is a quite renowned company around the planet  thats known for its products and innovation. Qualcomm is the company behind many of the audio devices, mobile devices, charging technologies, connectivity, hardware and what not.

Recently Qualcomm announced its charging technology the 'Quick Charge 5'. Quick charge is a fast charging technology that released its first version 'Quick Charge1.0' in 2013. Ever since it brought a drastic change in charging technology. In 2013, bringing 10W charging. Quick Charge 2.0, released in 2015, brought 1.5x charging speed improvements with 18W charging. Quick Charge 3.0 and Quick Charge 4.0, released in 2016 and 2017 year after other .Later QC 4+ released with speeds up to 27w and 45w. Now Qualcomm has announced Quick Charge 5, bringing  a humongous 100w+ speed at nearly 20 amps.

Qualcomm stated it as the fastest commercial charging technology for Android, that comes with Dual/Triple Charge technology, adaptive input voltage, INOV4, Qualcomm Battery Saver and more. It is 70% more efficient than quick charge 4 and delivers 10 times the power of quick charge 1.0. It  charges 4 times faster compared to previous generations still being 10 % cooler than QC 4. It can charge the device upto 💯 in just 15 min.

QC 5 also integrates Smart Identification Adapting Technologies which means that it can identify the real capabilities of a power source and adjust charging speeds accordingly, which is the first of its kind.Qualcomm is introducing the next generation power management ICs (PMIC), Qualcomm SMB1396 and Qualcomm SMB1398. That can support 1SnP and 2SnP batteries. The new PMICs are made to provide maximum efficiency above 98%. They can support higher voltages like 20V to have higher power deliver at both wired and wireless situations.

This new technology supports fast charging speeds among all the devices including accessories and thats a good thing to know. Quick Charge 5 accessories will have 3.3V-20V of voltage and 3A, 5A  or >5A of current that offer >45W of power supporting USB- PD.

Qualcomm says Quick Charge technology will be available on nearly 250+ mobile devices and 1000+ other accessories.Quick Charge 5 is backward compatible with Quick Charge 2.0, 3.0, 4, and 4+, and some of the phones running on SD processors. Chinese smartphone companies like Oppo and Realme announced that they will be releasing charging technologies around' 125W. But it looks like Qualcomm's technology is more reliable than those manufacturers
